3. PHOTO TIPS

 

 

The first stage is to choose your photos. The better the photo the better the portrait. Depending on the quality of the photo I may need a range to work with to achieve the realism. It is all about the detail and the photo that best represents your pet's or family member's personality. My tips for a great photo are about:

 

Focus (detail)

Sharp focus is the single most important ingredient. This enables me to accurately and realistically make your portrait come alive. A blurred photo is very difficult to work with. If you can see some of the individual hairs, then it is a high enough resolution for me to work from.

Distance

Get up close particularly if it is your pet or family member so that the head fills the frame.

​

Lighting

Try to avoid direct sunlight as it will tend to wash away colours and detail.
